How to Match an LED Strip Connector
Match the exact strip and connector by PCB width, pin count, pad layout, coating and electrical ratings. A shared nominal width is only a starting point. Approve the assembled connection before repeating it across the project.
Check the physical connection
Record the strip SKU and the connector SKU together. Compare the strip width and conductor count with the connector documentation, then check the contact positions against the strip pads. Include the strip coating and the space available inside the profile. A connector that enters the housing still needs its contact geometry confirmed.
Use clear pad and connector photos during the review. Keep the proposed assembly separate from an approved combination until the fit and model documentation have been checked.
For a short-cut model example, review the VELO FREE CUTTING 240 cut increment and PCB width, then verify the exact pads and contact geometry for the proposed connection.
Check the load carried through each connection
Include every branch supplied through the connection when recording downstream load. Compare that load with the documented connector and wire ratings under the relevant conditions. Driver wattage alone does not establish connector capacity.
Use the driver sizing guide to organise branch loads and the voltage-drop guide to record the cable route and feed layout. Neither calculation replaces exact connector or wire data.
Keep environmental protection with the complete assembly
The strip, connector and termination method must be reviewed together for the intended environment. An IP20 connector does not establish a sealed connection. Do not assume that the strip's protection rating carries through a cut or a new connection.
Review the IP and termination guide and request the exact assembly instructions before approving a protected installation.
A model to review: LINK SHY2P-8-1
LINK SHY2P-8-1 is listed as an IP20 prewired strip-to-wire connector for compatible 8mm, 2-pin single-color COB or SMD strips. This identifies a candidate to review; it does not confirm a match with every 8mm strip. Confirm the pad geometry, coating, wire details and downstream load for the proposed strip.
Copyable compatibility record
Complete one record for each proposed pair. Unknown fields remain open; they are not a pass.

Send the proposed pair for review
Send the strip SKU, pad photo, coating, run load and required wire length through Project Support. Include the proposed connector and any missing documentation so the open requirements can be identified before selection.
