Overview
Use short cutting increments for fitted lengths
VELO FREE CUTTING 240 is a 24V IP20 SOB strip with 74 LEDs/ft on a 0.315 in (8mm) PCB. Its documented 0.164 in cutting increment suits furniture, cabinetry, shelving and detailed linear-light layouts. Here, free-cutting refers to this short cutting increment, not permission to cut the circuit at any position. Cut only at the documented marks for the selected model.
Plan the dry indoor installation
Consider this IP20 model for dry indoor cabinet, shelf and millwork details. Check the available channel width, mounting arrangement, profile and diffuser before approving a fitted length. A short cut increment does not remove the space needed for a connector, end treatment or the profile itself.

For a hypothetical 39.00 in available channel, first subtract the measured termination clearances, then choose a documented cut position that fits the remaining space. Confirm the appearance in the intended profile and diffuser. This is a planning example, not a completed CADORVEN installation. Compare strip constructions when reviewing the intended light appearance.
Check the cut end and connection
PCB width, conductor count, pad layout, coating, contact geometry and downstream current must all match the proposed connection. Nominal width alone does not confirm that a connector fits. Review the LED strip connector compatibility checklist and confirm the exact strip-to-wire or strip-to-strip arrangement before ordering. No specific connector pairing is established by this page.
Plan power for the connected sections
Use the selected strip configuration’s listed W/ft and the total connected length to estimate connected load. The existing calculator is a planning aid; final driver selection must also account for the 24V system, run and feed arrangement, control method and manufacturer derating. The driver-sizing guide explains the site’s 90% maximum loading basis. A reel length is not a substitute for checking the proposed electrical layout.
Send the fitting details and approve the sample
For a quotation, record the strip model, CCT, length of each section, channel dimensions, termination clearance, profile, diffuser, feed arrangement, control requirements, quantity and destination. Record the accepted assembled sample so a repeat order can be compared with the original configuration.
The listed parameters cover the current catalogue offer. Other project details are confirmed by email during quotation. Send the channel length, PCB clearance and termination detail for review.
